The objective parameters are described and defined directly from the impulse response and the sound field. The acoustic impression is not only caused by the objective sound field. The human auditory system plays a conclusive role when it comes to perception of sound. The subjective impression a person have of a sound differ from another due to many things. This paper deals with the relationship between subjective and objective room acoustic parameters both in concert hall and on concert hall podium.
The auditorium of Pollini Conservatorio in Padua (Italy) have been under investigation: the measurements were taken during some musical events performed by students, so there was also the possibility to make subjective tests boh related to listeners and musicians on podium.
In the first part oh this investigation the objective acoustic parameters were measured in the concert hall and the subjective parameters were investigated through a questionnaire which was distributed among listeners. The questionnaire responses and the measurements of the soundfield were analysed.
In the second session of measurements the acoustical qualities of the stage were investigated, that is objective acoustic parameters were measured on the podium and the questionnaire of subjective parameters was distributed among musicians on the podium. The questionnaire responses and the measurements of the soundfield were analysed.
This method had good correlations as regards hall acoustical qualities and subjective test of listeners. This method did not give strong correlations as regards stage acoustics and in it brought attention on the limits and lach in the analysis of musicians’ needs on stage.
