Abstract (a different language)
The aim of the paper is to present and discuss the results of mapping faculty teaching practices and needs for improvement and identifying subgroups of teachers to tailor educational development. A survey was completed by academics from 7 Italian universities (Bari, Camerino, Catania, Florence, Foggia, Genoa, Turin). The survey included three open-ended questions, aimed at exploring innovative practices developed by faculty, critical aspects and types of desired support. Answers were first analyzed using content analysis, while a latent class analysis was then performed to classify teachers into distinct subgroups, according to different combinations of their teaching aspects. Teachers may be grouped into 10 homogeneous classes. Features identified in these subgroups are now guiding institutional choices to offer educational development initiatives.
