Porcine Reproductive Respiratory Syndrome: evaluation of viral circulation and antibody response in 4 farms of Veneto and Friuli-Venezia-Giulia. Porcine Reproductive Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS) is one of the most important swine disease in worldwide. In Italy, PRRSV is present since 20 years. The objective of this study is (1) the characterization of infection's dynamic of PRRS in 4 swine farms in Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giluia, from a point of view of serology and virology; (2) ORF 7 sequenzing of farms' strains for the evaluation of virus variability; (3) comparison of 5 kit ELISAs for serologic response detection of PRRSV. The evaluation of the serologic response, viral circulation and ORF 7 sequenze of strains has shown the infection dynamic of PRRSV in the farms, depending on the strains found in circulation. The comparison of ELISAs for measuring the antibody response of PRRSV has shown a significative correlation, although non perfect. Ig M / Ig G isotyping of the antibody response has not shown good results.
